East Herkimer Fire Dept.

EHFD assisted Schuyler FD with manpower at an early morning one vehicle rollover accident on August 18th on the NYS Thruway. The driver of the vehicle was pinned in and required extrication.

On June 26th, members of the EHFD participated in pump training drills. The drill challenged the speed and accuracy of pump operators by requiring them to flow tank water through a hose line while connecting to a hydrant. Once the connection was complete and hydrant water was ready, the operator was allowed to shut down the pump. The challenge was not to run out of tank water before the connections were complete.

The East Herkimer FD responded to a vehicle fire that was secondary to a car vs. deer accident on State Route 28 near Peter Smith Trucking on June 22nd. Automatic aid was received from Mohawk FD.
