East Herkimer Fire Dept.

On Saturday October 18, 2014, the East Herkimer Fire Department and MOVAC ambulance responded to a one vehicle collision on State Route 28 near Oberle Road. Upon arrival, MOVAC ambulance advised that extrication of one patient was required. Patient was extricated by East Herkimer Firefighters and transported to a local hospital by MOVAC ambulance for treatment.

On Tuesday October 7, 2014, the East Herkimer Fire Department and MOVAC ambulance was dispatched to a one vehicle rollover on State Route 28 near Shells Bush Road. One patient was transported by MOVAC ambulance to a local hospital for treatment.

The East Herkimer Fire Department was called to assist Schuyler FD at the scene of a commercial building fire on State Route 5 on 11/25. EHFD provided manpower, tanker, cascade, and set up a fill site. Schuyler was also assisted by Frankfort, Frankfort Center, Deerfield and MOVAC.

At approximately 4:30 pm on November 8th, the East Herkimer Fire Department along with MOVAC and Mohawk Fire Department were dispatched to a car versus bucket loader accident on Steuben Hill Road. Two patients were transported to a local hospital with minor injuries.

On March 18th, the East Herkimer Fire Department along with more than a dozen other departments from three counties assisted the Cedarville Fire Department at a large commercial barn fire. EHFD provided manpower and a tanker to support the large operation that included the use of an aerial tower and multiple pieces of heavy equipment.
