The DEC open burn ban is in effect through May 14. No burn permits will be issued at this time. We will evaluate the weather conditions in May and determine if we will be extending the ban in the town at that point. Thank you for making our job easier by preventing grass and brush fires this spring! For additional information, please see the DEC link below. Remember that when burning of brush is allowed, you must still get a burn permit from the Town of Herkimer for the dates that you plan on burning.
