On January 22, while EHFD was conducting its monthly training, the department was dispatched to a chimney fire on Smalls Bush Rd. Upon arrival, units were met with a chimney fire that extended into the second floor of the structure. The fire was confined to one room on the second floor with significant heat, smoke, and water damage throughout the residence. East Herkimer was assisted at the scene by Mohawk and Little Falls Fire Departments along with MOVAC Ambulance Service.
