The East Herkimer Fire Department responded to a rescue call on Steuben Hill Road on Friday May 28, 2010. Upon arrival, crews found a male over a 40′ embankment who had been injured when he lost control of his garden tractor which rolled with him over the hill. Rope rescue equipment was used to remove the patient who was transported by MOVAC to a Utica hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Mohawk Fire Department and MOVAC ambulance also assisted in the rescue.
